What the test is for
LH Ovulation Test Kit is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the semi-qualitative detection of Luteinizing Hormone (LH) in human urine as an aid for the early detection of ovulation.
Test principle
The detection system uses the principle of agglutination of antibodies with the respective antigen in an immuno-chromatographic format, with nano gold particles as the agglutination revealing agent — a sandwich immunoassay on a nitrocellulose membrane. When the test is performed, the specific anti-LH colloidal gold conjugate complexes with LH in the patient sample and travels along the membrane by capillary action together with mouse IgG-colloidal gold conjugate. The unbound conjugate is immobilized by Goat Anti-Mouse IgG antibodies coated at the control region (C), forming a colored band that validates the result. Specific anti-LH antibodies coated on the test line (T) immobilize the complex and form a second colored band. A pink-purple band at the test region with an intensity equal to or higher than the control line indicates an LH surge, and therefore ovulation.
